During this course (Global citizen), the personal and professional development of the student is central. The student sets personal and professional learning goals in relation to intercultural and international communication. The aim of the course is that the student (further) develops himself (knowledge, attitudes and skills) as a global citizen, both personally and professionally, with the result to be able to function optimally in a globalizing world. Knowing who you are, what you stand for, where you want to go, what you would like to achieve , is the basis of personal and professional development. Students become competent global citizens by learning, working and innovating in an intercultural and international context. It is not only about gaining more knowledge (about oneself and the world around them), but rather about awareness, connection and motivation. By offering inspirational (guest) sessions, coaching sessions, intervision and self-study, the student works individually on his story as a global citizen and towards his own interpretation and implementation of a ‘free’ assignment. The student keeps a log of all activities and presents his final deliverable(s) in a suitable way.
- The student demonstrates self-knowledge based on relevant theories and assignments
- The student sets and realizes personal and professional learning goals that contribute to the (further) development as a global citizen
- The student formulates and carries out an appropriate assignment that matches his development need in the field of intercultural and international communication and global citizenship and reflects on his development
To access the minor Intercultural and International Communications, students must be able to read, write and communicate in English without major difficulties (B2,C1).
