During this course (Intercultural Management I) the student gains knowledge about various elements related to intercultural management (culture, intercultural sensitivity, cultural diversity, inclusivity, multicultural teams, inclusive communication, global leadership, etc.). Intercultural management here means managing intercultural diversity within yourself and in an organizational context with the main goal of good cooperation that builds on understanding, respect and communication (dialogue). The aim of the course is that the student gains more knowledge and become more aware of the effect of culture and diversity in organizations and that he learns what important elements are to make a positive contribution to inclusive communication and effective internal cooperation. By discussing relevant theory, models, case studies, best practices, etc., the student works on different topics related to intercultural management.
- The student understands the concept of culture, the effect of culture on business and the benefits and challenges of diversity in a business context
- The student is aware of his own intercultural competence and intercultural sensitivity and the importance of these concepts in an international business context
To access the minor Intercultural and International Communications, students must be able to read, write and communicate in English without major difficulties (B2,C1).
